Sleevenotez is a rich internet application designed to return value to music by re-coupling it with the huge wealth of content now available across the Web. Sleevenotez aggregates content from a growing list of third-party resources and presents it to the user based on the music they are currently listening to. At the moment we utilise the Audioscrobbler API to do this. In techie lingo, Sleevenotez is a real-time contextual information client, or a dashboard for "continuous partial attention”. The app is built on Python and utilises Twisted, Nevow and Axiom, and is hosted on Amazon's EC2. Read this for more information. Screenshots are available here.

Sleevenotez is currently in pre-alpha. Soon, we plan to add "Mechanical-Turk" features in future that encourage users to disambiguate information, and improve its quality and relevance. This will help us become a canonical source of music information. Users will be able to link to a wealth of artist information via one semantically-comprehensible URL (e.g. http://www.sleevenotez.com/artist/turisas.)

We'd also like to build a version optimised for mobile devices ;-)
